Long overdue...

March was a BUSY month!  Between Dr. Seuss and then St. Patrick's Day then Spring Break.  Finally got some items from the class SeeSaw so I could share their amazing  projects. Thanks to First Grade Blue Skies we learned how to draw a leprechaun and even gave them voices for a message to everyone.

The March family project was to decorate a rainbow or create a leprechaun trap.  Here is a video with each of us showing your our project.

I love hearing the children explain their projects and all the family fun is a BONUS!!
St. Patrick's Day was our last day before Spring Break and what better way to celebrate than with a green taste testing party.

St. Patricks Day 2014

The leprechaun reeked chaos this morning! You should have seen it!  The first 30 minutes of the morning were filled with cleaning, moving, and visiting the bathroom.  Yes visiting the bathroom.  The leprechaun even changed the toilet water color.  He is quite mischievous. Let me start back to Friday.  The kids shared their rainbows and leprechaun traps and they were too cute.  Can I just say sharing family projects might be one of my most favorite things about first grade.  Parents you really outdid yourselves this year.  Check out the pictures. So we set up the traps and left for the weekend.  We walked in and the room was upside down and in a complete mess.  Imagine green glitter and oh my the custodian might have a fit seeing it all around the room.  Well it took us a awhile to clean it up but I will say it made for interesting journal entries today.  Thank you to the families for the awesome green taste test party this afternoon- an annual Wright's Rippers tradition. It was so busy I forgot to take a poll for the favorite.  I will have to let you know tomorrow.  I bet all my leprechaun catchers are sleepy tonight...

St. Patty's Day 2013

Our annual Green Party on Friday was the best!  Yummy green broccoli, celery, pickles, apple, kiwi, Hawaiian Punch, and of course leprechaun juice.  The leprechaun traps and rainbows were a highlight! Make sure to check out the slideshow and see the creative families come together for the annual March family homework project.

St. Patrick's Day 2012

Well this just might be the year one of my firsties catches the leprechaun!  Our annual March family project is to create a trap or decorate a rainbow.  The parents have outdone themselves!  It is so much fun listening to them talk strategy and who in their family did what part of the project.  Sometimes they make me laugh out loud during their presentations.  You have to see these traps and rainbows.  A huge thank you to all the families for your creative ideas.  I did tell the kids to set the traps last night and try to catch one.  Please keep a hold of him until he gives you his gold and then remember your favorite 1st grade teacher!  Enjoy Spring Break and the warm Florida sun/beach!  Happy St. Patrick's Day!
