Our CCE PTA has a BIG event each Spring as a school-wide initiative fund raiser and the highlight is the silent auction. Each teacher and class put together a basket for the silent auction. there are cooking baskets, spa baskets, and even LOTTO baskets to name a few. What is something your school can do that doesn't cost any money but brings in money for the school? Raffle off front seats tot he 5th grade graduation or winter/end of year concert or special area teaching assistants for the day! Each special area is given a teaching assistant for the day and we make it a BIG deal! We have shirts I print up with their names on them. We make name tags and lanyards to look official and we have lunch with all the special area teachers and assistants during lunch. It is such a fun event and the money goes to our PTA to help fund the yearly goals. The students love having the ability to shadow a teacher and lead for the day. Making memories for sure...

GO Otters 2015
My promise this year is to blog more and work on those oh so important relationships. I try to inform my parents and let them be a part of our class and the firsties love seeing all their efforts on the internet. What about the teachers out there? How can I connect and collaborate the amazing things happening at CCE? My mission will keep me busy so check back often and please share, subscribe, and tweet away...
I was blessed to spend time with my family and really relax this summer. Am I ready to go back? OF COURSE I am! I love the schedule of it all and a new beginning with a fresh group of firstie friends is an added bonus. This year our daughter starts high school as a freshman and our son will enter the 7th grade. Where did the time go? More on that throughout the year.
Today was our 1st day back as teachers and Dr. L and Mrs. Pitchford threw the bash of all bashes! We enjoyed breakfast at a local country club and wait let me let you check out this short promo video and you count the smiles.
Wasn't that awesome Go Otters 2015! I will have to share my favorite photo that didn't make the video-it ran so fast and this photo needs a stand alone...

You should have seen the line of teachers and staff waiting to join the PTA. Our President Renee is in the middle taking papers & money and handing out raffle tickets. Our mission is to have 100% teacher & staff membership and I will have to say we are off to the best start in years. Way to go PTA! Oh and wait did I forget to mention they put $40 in each teacher's account to help with class needs. Well worth my PTA membership and I can't wait for the 1st Spirit Night.
This year is going to be amazing. I am going to run all year and make it the best one yet. I have BIG plans with technology, inspiring them to be the best people they can be, and share our world through Twitter & Instagram and Periscope...stay tuned...#grateful

Easter 2012
April already? It is hard to believe we are 4 months into 2012 but even harder to believe the Easter weekend has ended. I spent the weekend with my entire family. We laughed, watched Carson play baseball, and watched the sunrise this morning at the Easter service for our church. Of course, I ate way too much but enjoyed every bit of it! My mom and dad can really cook. I just love my family and I feel so blessed to have them in my life every day. I am the luckiest person to have Tim and our beautiful children to count as my blessings.
Another blessing is my job with the firsties! I love going to work each day and seeing how incredible little people can be. They are doing an amazing job reading, using mental math, and using the technology we incorporate throughout the day. We had a great Friday with our Easter egg hunt, yummy treats, and of course the bunny hop! Big thanks to Mrs. Foster, our PTA President for making a popcorn cake. It was yummy! We had 100% parent participation with PTA memberships and earned our special treat and a smoothie party on Tuesday! Way to go Wright's Rippers families. Check out the video below. Great fun.
